ICNA Relief Canada’s Water for Life program continues to grow year after year:

1,000+ wells built across India, Pakistan, and East Africa since 2016
4 major community water projects in Somalia benefiting over 1 million people and their livestock
$470,000 invested in 2019 alone in clean water projects in Somalia, Pakistan, and India
Ongoing construction of:
○ A new large-scale community water system in Somalia
○ 300 additional wells across Pakistan and India
Water solutions include shallow hand pump wells, deep solar-powered wells, and community-scale water systems

Our Water Well Solutions

Every community is unique. That’s why ICNA Relief Canada offers different types of wells based on geography, population needs, and water scarcity.

Shallow Hand Pump Wells

A cost-effective solution for families or small villages where water is close to the surface.

Depth: 10–30 meters
Manual hand pump
Ideal for: Small communities, high water-table areas
Benefits: Quick relief, reliable daily access, budget-friendly
Impact: Provides water to small clusters of families

Deep Solar-Powered Wells

A long-term, high-impact solution for regions facing water scarcity.

Depth: 100–300+ meters
Powered by solar energy
Ideal for: Large communities, drought-prone regions
Benefits: High daily water output, supports schools, clinics & agricultur
Impact: Provides sustainable clean water to entire village

These two well types allow us to respond to a wide range of needs from immediate relief to long-term community transformation.

Once you’re ready to proceed, please follow the steps below:

Step 1: Select a Water Project

Select a Water Project from the “Available Projects” list.

Step 2: Make the Donation

Make the donation for the amount of the project you wish to sponsor.

Donation Options:

Donate via the appropriate Donation Button (Credit Card Required) on our secure website OR
Donate via Cash, Cheque or Money Order. Make Cheques payable to “ICNA Relief Canada.”

Memo: Water for Life Project (Plus Project Name and Location).
Drop Off Cash / Mail Cheque to one of our Offices. Please do NOT Mail Cash.

IMPORTANT: If donating via our website, please email us a copy of the Automated “Donation Acknowledgement Receipt” you will promptly receive at the email address you provided to us during the online donation process. Please forward a copy of this Automated “Donation Acknowledgement Receipt” to: water@icnareliefcanada.ca. If you don’t receive the automated receipt, please check your Junk (or Bulk) Mail Folder or contact us with your donation details.

Step 3: Provide Names for Name Plaque (Optional):

If you wish to add a Donor/Sponsor Name on the Name Plaque which will be placed on the completed project site, please email us the Complete Name at the time you make the donation.

Important Notes: You must sponsor the complete project (full amount) to have the option of specifying a name for Name Plaque. A Name Plaque will be placed at each Fully Sponsored Project location. A Maximum of 25 Characters (including spaces) or ideally a maximum of a 3 to 4 Word Name on each Name Plaque (due to limited space). Plaque specifications vary from project to project and are decided on by the local implementing partner.

(Examples: Generously Donated by (or Donated On Behalf Of): “Mohammed Abdul Salam” or “M. AbdulSalam Family” or “(Late) M. AbdulSalam”).

Step 4: Feedback and D'uaa:

Make D’uaa (prayers) for our team who work hard to make these projects possible and provide us with any constructive feedback so we can keep improving.

Timeline:

The Project(s) take around 6-9 months to complete, In Shaa Allah (God Willing).

Pictures of the completed project can be shared with donors upon request (a follow up email is welcome in 8 months’ time in case you don’t hear from us).
