Afghanistan Earthquake Relief
On August 31, a 6.0-magnitude earthquake struck eastern Afghanistan, devastating the provinces of Kunar and Nangarhar. Entire villages have been reduced to rubble. Families are digging through the debris with their bare hands. Children have lost parents. Homes, livelihoods, and hopes for tomorrow have all been buried under the weight of this disaster.
With your help, ICNA Relief Canada is working with local partners and grassroots networks to:
- Deliver emergency food parcels, clean water, and hygiene kits
- Distribute shelter supplies: tents, blankets, sleeping mats, and warm clothing
We are focusing our efforts on reaching the most vulnerable: women, children, and those trapped in rural districts where traditional aid rarely goes.

The Crisis at a Glance
Deaths
Deaths: 1500+ fatalities
3500+ injured
12,000+ people affected across Kunar and Nangarhar
Homes Destroyed: 8000 homes destroyed
As the global community watches, you have the chance to act. Afghanistan is a land that has endured hardship upon hardship – conflict, poverty, and now natural disaster. But where pain runs deep, so too must our response.
