The wisdom behind this act is two-fold:
- to purify the month long fasting of the Muslims
- to enable the poor and less fortunate to also enjoy the celebration of Eid
ICNA Relief Canada uses the Sadaqat-ul-Fitr donations to provide food to the less fortunate. Currently, ICNA Relief Canada’s suggested cost for Sadaqat-ul-Fitr is $10.00 (per person in household).
